WHAT IS A FIBERGLASS POOL WITHOUT CERAMIC?
1. FACT: |
Fiberglass will blister over time and crack due to a problem known as cobalting, which as been a problem in the fiberglass industry for years. CERAMIC prevents this from happening. |
2. FACT: |
No other fiberglass company besides Viking uses a UV-protectant in their gel-coat process. Without this gel-coat process the pool could fade in color in as little as a year. (There is no warranty against fading).
3. FACT: |
Some of the other brands (without ceramic) must sit on rubber tires because they cannot support their own weight and will buckle or warp without water in them for the added support.
4. FACT: |
Because of their hollow bond beam, other models must use a spreader beam placed in the middle of the pool to keep it from collapsing when being picked up by a crane when being delivered to your home. Some brands even need the spreader beam to remain in place during the back fill process. Viking Pools uses a triangulated honeycombed bond beam and does not need spreader beams. Viking Pools are twice as strong as ordinary fiberglass pools. |
5. FACT: |
Other pools must be constrained by a continuous concrete bond beam all the way around the pool to prevent the pool from collapsing. This action is required per the I.C.B.O. (International Conference of Building Officials.)
Viking pools are not required to have this beam. In fact Viking pools are the only fiberglass pools that can be installed partially above ground. |
